I have a 2006 and have already spent well over $1000 on repairs. All of which happened just outside of my warranty- go figure. The brakes are horrible. The A/C is out already and I had to replace the engine mount last year. I think this vehicle is a lemon and I can't wait to get rid of it.
Yes Kelly, as a mother of two small children I make sure and take off at green lights as fast as humanly possible and I burn rubber on my tires all the time! Seriously- do you work for Ford? Why are you defending them? You should NOT have to replace an egine mount on a 2006 vehicle. Brake pads should be changed, I agree but from what I have read many others are having more serious brake problems than that.
LeAnne, let me explain. There are 75k miles on the vehicle. I bought it with high miles in a cruch and with bad credit. I didn't have much options at the time. The a/c has a leak and the leak appears to be in the compressor, which is way expensive to repair. The brakes aren't so bad compared to the jumping when you move from park to reverse or park to drive. The motor mount costs me a little over $600 at the Ford Dealership. I have already paid $200 plus in A/C repairs. So I stand corrected, I have paid closer to $800 or $900 on repairs- not maintenance. I take very good care of this car, I get the oil changed ever 3000 miles and I do not drive it hard as suggested by another user. Bottom line, I expected a lot more out of this vehicle and I am very dissapointed.

was driving my new 2007 Ford F150 this weekend, and the transmission went out it has only 6,000 miles. I called a Friend of mine who works for Ford as an Engineer. He was not surprised. He said since Ford is all most bankrupted and selling Range Rover, Jacq, and offering buyouts, they are building vehicles with alot of cheap unreliable parts to save money such as using plastic on everything. He said, the gear on the speed sensor is plastic and many other parts. He pulled the warranty claims on the F150 transmission, and said that the Ford trucks are plagued with Transmission problems such as gear slip, leaks, torque converter, and etc.He said the Kentucky truck plant is closing.
Anyway, This truck is a piece of Junk, I will never by another Ford Again.
