How do I go about getting a car, that was sold for junk, out of my name?
Back in June 2007, a guy sold me a car that was a '93 Honda Prelude. Come to find out, the car had a lien on it from someone else, but the lien was cleared. Come to find out, this car was never registered in this guy's name, so I had to get an affidavit for a bonded title. He sold me the car for $1,500.
The car broke down on me the next day, I had to get it towed, the mechanics fixed it, it was running for only a week. That Friday, I tried to drive the car, it was smoking about to blow up, so I couldn't drive it anymore.
2 months later, I sold it as junk, a foreign guy towed it paid me $200 for the car. I just recently found out that the vehicle's license plate is still registered in my name. How can I go about getting it out of my name? I know there's a form to fill out, I have it. But I took down the man's name phone #, as well as company, I can't find that paper.
***Please don't cyber-attack me call me stupid or jump on me. I'm young 25. That was my 1st experience with buying a used car from a personal seller. I won't do it again. Please don't be judgmental. Just give me advice on how to handle this.

I wouldnt worry about it. The tag is long since expired. You sold the car long ago.
Worst case is someone robs a bank in it, the cops come to you and you tell them you sold it years ago.
If they dont believe you they may pressure you to find the bill of sale.
Im sure that most junkyards do NOT notify the DMV when a car is junked.
You stop buying a tag, its assumed that you are no longer driving it.
Find something more important to worry about.
Like global warming or hugging trees !
