me jeep has a heated seats recall on it i get a letter from jeep every 3 months. even tho you bought it used. the co should of sent a letter. i bought my jeep used in 06 it was allready 2 years old and recall was out for a year and a half. after i brought it home 3 weeks later i got the letter.

i am a master auto tech and to be blunt almost ever vehicle on the road is subject to at least one recall. check with your local dealer with the vin number and they will be happy to check for you. the tech still gets payed to fix it even if you aren't out any money and as for the used cars it is not the fault or the responsibility of a used car dealer to check, know ,or say anything in regards to any recalls on a car.. they didn't build it they just sell them

I didn't but i knew someone whose car had a recall. The same day that the recall was made, his car ended up having the same problem.

i bought the car from auto max (a used car lot p.s i suggest like a warning to you, to not buy from there they are ripe offs)since i was a first time buyer and in desperate need of a car; i did some research of my own and found out that THEY HAD TWO RECALLS ON IT I WAS SHOCKED AND MAD so i took to the dealer ship and they took care of it for free i no longer trust dealerships thats the su*ky part to.

It's somewhat amazing the number of people who don't take their vehicles into the dealership when they get a safety recall.
Your story is proof enough just how foolish this is. These recalls are almost always mandated by the government based on the number of actual concerns recorded on a specific vehicle.
I've never experienced a serious fault due to a recall, but I've gotten some pretty scary recall notices such as Your ability to control the vehicle will be compromised if the front suspension, upper control arm separates from the frame.
Well….duh !
