I live in Illinois and have a junk car that I want removed from my property. It's probably not worth even $100, but there are people who advertise in the paper that they'll buy junk vehicles for $100-$200. I really don't feel like going to the trouble to apply for a lost title when the car isn't worth anything, and the fee in my state is almost $100 anyway. Can I just sell the car as junk to someone and then let them deal with getting a new title for it?
I probably should add details…the car is an older (80s) Isuzu Trooper that doesn't belong to anyone. We bought a rental property last year and the car belongs to one of the tenants. He doesn't have the title for it, and it didn't belong to him anyway. It belonged to his grandpa who is no longer living. I'm trying to help him out and figure out how he can get rid of it…and help myself out too because we don't want the car on our property.

I have a 2006 and have already spent well over $1000 on repairs. All of which happened just outside of my warranty- go figure. The brakes are horrible. The A/C is out already and I had to replace the engine mount last year. I think this vehicle is a lemon and I can't wait to get rid of it.
Yes Kelly, as a mother of two small children I make sure and take off at green lights as fast as humanly possible and I burn rubber on my tires all the time! Seriously- do you work for Ford? Why are you defending them? You should NOT have to replace an egine mount on a 2006 vehicle. Brake pads should be changed, I agree but from what I have read many others are having more serious brake problems than that.
LeAnne, let me explain. There are 75k miles on the vehicle. I bought it with high miles in a cruch and with bad credit. I didn't have much options at the time. The a/c has a leak and the leak appears to be in the compressor, which is way expensive to repair. The brakes aren't so bad compared to the jumping when you move from park to reverse or park to drive. The motor mount costs me a little over $600 at the Ford Dealership. I have already paid $200 plus in A/C repairs. So I stand corrected, I have paid closer to $800 or $900 on repairs- not maintenance. I take very good care of this car, I get the oil changed ever 3000 miles and I do not drive it hard as suggested by another user. Bottom line, I expected a lot more out of this vehicle and I am very dissapointed.

I have a 1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer and I need to replace the headliner. The original backer board is beyond repair and cannot be used or traced and I have had NO luck finding them at junk yards. I also haven't been able to find a restorer in my area who does this kind of work. Does anyone know how I can make a headliner backer-board from scratch, or have any ideas here? I am fairly crafty with tools, I have help and am willing to spend the money. Any advice or Information would be a huge help. Thanks!!!

I am so tired of people telling me how much better than American vehicles their toyota is!! Even when they know Ford is nuber one in quality automobiles. Take the F-150 , the number one selling vehicle for over 25 years, you don't have the best selling vehicle that long by making junk. Sure ,American cars sometimes have their problems,so do Japanese cars like the toyota, and German cars like the dodge and chrysler(it's sad but chrysler no longer an American company. What ever happened to American pride? As far as i am concerend Ford (yes if you haven't figured it out yet i'm a Ford man) makes some of the best vehicles in the world!! Even GM makes some very good cars and trucks, not as high quality as Ford, but certinly better than the almighty perfect toyota I have an uncle who always drove GM cars, i was so shocked latley when i drove up to his house and saw a new toyota taco-ma, his last truck was a Chevy S-10 with over 250 thousand miles on it, he said he had no trouble with it

I got in a bad car accident. My 99 Dodge Grand Caravan sport was totalled. (it was hit in the back passenger area I was pusheed so my front hit a pole) It has alot of damage. 3 windows blew out the front wondshield cracked. I dont know if this info is releveant b/c I am not sure if it goes by the condition of the vehicle or weight. I am just wondering how much will the Tow place take off of the bill if I sign the car over to them? I just want a ball park amount so I know if they are paying to low. Thank you. I've Been Looking Into Buy A New Car. The One I Have Is Ready For The Junk Yard. What Brand Of Car (In Your Opinion) Would Be A Good All-Around Car? Something Not Too Expensive, Good On Gas, And Generally A Well Rounded Vehicle To Own.

I was in a car accident in NY my car was totally damaged. I can still drive it a little but the rims have fallen the tires are damaged. What do I do with this damaged vehicle? Do I have to take it to a junk yard myself? I can't find the answer I have not yet spoken with the tow truck driver besides him telling me to pick it up tomorrow. Any help would be appreciated.
