Can they tow away my vehicle and?

If you did not finish paying as agreed for the car that was towed, it is most certainly legal. They are entitled to recover all fees associated with recovery of their property. It's condition was of no consequence and I really hope you honor the contract on the car that replaced it.

Do you have any county laws that say you can't leave your car parked on your property? If the police wrote you up for an abandened vehicle in front of your house, you might want to talk to a lawyer about the county towing company steeling your parked car from in front of your house.

If it were ME, I would tell them to go pound sand. They already auctioned the car and you don't owe any money to a lender on it. They probably got more than it was worth at auction. These tow companies are a bunch of thieves, I can tell you for sure.
They once sent ME a threatening letter regarding a car my SON had towed. I said go ahead and sue me. We'll see who wins and presto, never heard from them again.

Sure. Somebody has to pay them for the towing and storage fees. Since it was your car, you get to pay the bill. It may have been your car, but when it sat on the street, it became an abandoned vehicle.
Oh, and if it was in the street in front of your house, it was parked on public, not private property and the city/county has the right to impound it.
