1996 Buick Lesabre Ltd. Sell or Junk it ?
poki99 asked:
We had our 96 Buick Lesabre Ltd for only a few months when the engine locked up due to low oil… so the engine is busted. We have given up hope and are looking for another vehicle but what to do with this Buick?? Trying to get the most money I can and I know that if we junk it they will only give us $50-100. Not sure how to go about selling it for parts. Would somebody buy this with the engine not working? How much would I ask for? Help help help LOL…. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

If you don't plan on repairing it, you would be better off junking it. That is, unless you don't mind a junk car sitting in your driveway, which you will have to junk sooner or later anyway.
The only way you could sell it is if you get extremely lucky and find someone looking for a donor car with a bad engine. Then, don't expect very much more than junk price for this car.

I would do 1 of 2 things
1. go on ebay and start selling off parts, take off parts 1 by 1 and list them
2.Donate it… you can get a decent tax break

someone will buy it not running just place and ad in something like the thrifty nickel the transmission alone is worth more than a junkyard will give you for the entire car i think you should ask for about 600- 800 depending on how good the body and interior is i buy 2 or 3 cars a month that need working on and i tend to pay about 400 for each and fix it and sell it for 2-4 grand so where you at i might make you an offer

If you are willing to go to the trouble to part it out, you 'might' amke a thousand or so. But the valuable parts are the running gear, which is toast. I would just send it to the junk yard, and be glad they'll take it without charging you for the tow…
